Sparks & Daphne
Every once and awhile, there are two birds that I just HAVE to
put together.  For whatever reason, it always seems like the
process takes longer when it's a pair I'm REALLY excited
about and Sparks & Daphne are no different.
This is my first linebreeding on
Balls, one of my resident
favorites.  Balls has the most incredible Hawky brow and head
that I've seen in a long time and his first son, Sparks is no
different.  Daphne is from another pairing that I did with Balls
last year.  I really hoped for his classic head package in this
pair's chicks - but, alas - it did not pass on.  His mate
(Daphne's mother) is gorgeous.  (

16 & 118
My best Recessive Silver cock is also split to either Whiteface
or Pastelface (I'll have to test breed to see which).  He is from
Ares and Spring.  An F1 outcross on my Greeson lines, he has
been bred for increased size in my WF/PF lines and he's
matured into a beautiful big cock.  His large head and eyes are
indicative of the Greeson lines and his brothers and sisters
have matured into equally impressive birds.

He is now being taken back to a gorgeous, albeit camera-shy,
pearl hen from Philip Feret that is split to Whiteface.  118 has
LOTS of Greeson genes, too so the pair should make
incredible babies.  and if we're lucky, maybe even some nice
big Whitefaces or Pastels!
Hera and Ares
Where do I even begin describing these two?  Both came
directly from Linda Greeson herself and are responsible for
some of the most unforgettable birds here today.

Originally paired exclusively with Zeus, Hera has begun to lay
infertile eggs presumably because of Zeus' age.  So she has
been repaired with my best and most potent Greeson cock.
Hopefully, this pair will go on to produce some pure-blooded
Greeson kids that will continue these magnificent lines for
generations to come at TopTiels.
430 and 31
430 (pictured far left) is from a joint breeding between Josh
Maple and Pat Tucker, two fellow breeders that produce some
of the best breeding stock in the world today.  This hen is the
mother to Daphne (pictured above) and has now been bred to
Clyde's son, 31 in an effort to produce some large and very
yellow Cinnamon chicks.

Cinnamons haven't been as popular as other mutations and I
think the reason is that they can sometimes be a bit "drab".
But this hen should produce a brilliant yellow pigment that
gives the cinnamons a beautiful rich glow.
Big Boy and 414
Big Boy is one of Apollo & Leta's gargantuan boys and here
he's been paired to a Ree Maple Cinnamon hen that is long,
lean and beautiful to see!

This breeding is being done to add length and style on to
Apollo's huge babies which can weigh upwards of 185 grams,
but lack some style and color that 414 proudly wears.
Apollo and Mystery
Mystery gave us a beautiful clutch of babies earlier this year
with her chosen partner, Neon.  But here, she has been
re-paired to one of my main breeding cocks, Apollo.

While Apollo's size isn't as impressive as his brother Ares, his
chicks with Leta have been enormous and Mystery is stepping
in to offer a GORGEOUS style package that Leta doesn't have.
In the future, chicks from this pairing (an F1 outcross) can go
directly back into our Greeson lines with a fresh look in crest,
color and cheek patch that sometimes lacks in our  monstrous
Greeson birds.
44 & 88
A linebreeding on Philip Feret's famous Pied Line should add
some gorgeous new pieds into our aviary!

TopTiels focuses mainly on size, form and stature.  We have
given little acknowledgement to the mutations in the past, but
have always admired the beautiful heavy Pieds from Phil's
lines in Seattle Washington.  Now, with the help of these two
and their genetic propensity for heavy pieds, we will be able to
inject a new look into the size and style that has made
TopTiels so popular!
