While most of my Cockatiel pairs that I set
up here are bred to expand on the Greeson
lineage, I set Graham and 528 up as a
linebreeding on a different family. They
both have their share of Greeson genes
(Graham more than 528), but this pairing is
a half and half on Jimmy Allen's parents.
Jimmy's line has outstanding color and
length, combined with impressive crests and
large eyes - and these chicks will make
invaluable outcrosses to the larger Greeson
Cockatiels at some point.
Graham's mother is the daughter of Josh's pair #54 cock, 55G-826-95, and Jimmy
Allen's mother is from a Tory daughter (pair #16) - Graham's father is Jimmy Allen's
brother! (sorry - I know this gets confusing)
528's father IS Jimmy Allen and her mother is a Lutino Pearl Pied hen from Puerto
Rico that was brought to the United States because she and her sisters were SO
yellow that they were considered to be "Orange" Cockatiels!
The pair made some VERY nice chicks, including some strikingly colored Lutino
Pearls. Rich Scorzelli got one of the Lutino Pearl Cockatiels and Pat Tucker got a
Normal daughter that is long and elegant. I kept a beautiful Lutino cock and another
Normal hen and I'm excited to watch them mature and fill out.
