55G-59-97 is a pure Greeson cockatiel and is also the brother to Zeus. He's
Moose's father, Sadie's grandfather and Rocky's great grandfather! He's a pair
#129 cock, which is a blend of pair #16 and pair #54. His genes flow through most of
our birds here in varying degrees - so when the opportunity to purchase him came
up, I jumped at the chance!
He came to TopTiels as an older bird, and sometimes the older ones can have a
difficult time re-acclimating to their new home, so when 59 met 412, a beautiful
Cinnamon Pearl hen from Ree Maple, I saw how much more comfortable he became
and I let them go to nest - even though, I had other birds in mind for him.
He and 412 gave me two beautiful babies, and they were such devoted parents that I
decided to let them finish the chicks out on their own. A Pearl daughter and a Pied
son were allowed to fledge naturally in their smaller breeding cage and when they
were old enough - I moved the entire family into the main flight. 59 & 412 continued
feeding their youngsters for another 4 months!
These two will be bred back into the Greeson lines as F1 outcrosses. They're sturdy
well built chicks with great heads on them and I'm looking forward to pairing them up
in the future. Parent raised birds always seem to do such a wonderful job with their
babies and I'm anticipating great things from both of these youngsters!
