About Us
Our resident queen, Hera, is currently our
largest hen.  With a flight weight of 195 grams
and a cage weight that can go as high as 230,
she has to be monitored closely in all breeding
situations where a small cage keeps her
massive frame from daily exercise.  For this
reason, when her chicks are sold, new owners
are asked to provide them with larger than
normal areas for exercise.  Unnecessary
weight on these larger birds can lead to all
kinds of problems not the least of which are
fatty livers.
When provided with a large expanse to fly,
play and otherwise exercise, these giants will
reward their owner with years of health and
some outstanding babies.
She is shown here after just being moved
from her flight and into a breeding cage.  She is
lean, muscular and in perfect condition to
breed.
Hera is currently paired to Achilles, which is
her son by Zeus.  The chicks born from this
pairing will undoubtedly be smaller than both of
these large birds, but their genetic makeup
should insure extremely large offspring when
paired to a large outcross in the years to come.

These birds are 100% Greeson and are highly
sought after lines.  They are known, not only for their
massive size, but also for their large heads and
eyes, impressive crests and general friendliness in
the aviary.  Greeson's pair 54 have been responsible
for increased size in aviaries throughout the United
States and Puerto Rico.
When available, chicks from these large Greeson
birds can cost upwards of $600.  They are rare and
difficult to acquire, but as you can see, worth their
weight in gold to any aviary attempting to increase
the size in their current flock.
